We are the Knights (that’s pronounced phonetically - cuh-nig-its - as of the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail) Who Say Cyclic, a group of High School students, all of whom attended 6thgrade at Challenger School. At Challenger, we each gained not only a respect of the English language but also the want to change the world. Our noble mission is to improve America, one step at a time – primarily by improving the U.S.’s tongue and correcting false ideas about how its government functions. 2011!

It's kind of queer how people are always so eager to embrace the new year, never hanging on to the old one to say more than "Glad that's over with" or "Well, that was an okay year." (The exception may come next year, what with these "2012 = doom" ideas going 'round.) Rarely, if ever, does one hear "How sad I am to see 2010 go. I really am not excited for 2011." And then there's the whole "new year's resolutions" business. I personally think that one should be at liberty to make new resolutions any old time - why bother changing with the calendar? - but I have to admit that it can be a good idea. Think about all these people starting fresh and deeply pondering about how they want to live. A time of rebirth, undoubtably, kind of like the season of spring. So, those are my thoughts on the new year. I'm inviting everyone to leave any resolutions they want to share as comments on this post.
Here's to 2011!

  2. Thanks for sharing. I'll share mine once I've got it more defined.
And on your first resolution, I didn't show any signs of amusement until you told me not to laugh.

  3. Well...
There was that one thought about procrastination, and I was going to make a revolution about it... until I heard this great qoute:

"Getting things done may pay off sometime in the future, but procastination always pays off right now."

    -Baldr, god of... peace. :)

  4. Very funny. And I counter that from a quote from The Music Man - "You pile up a lot of 'tomorrows' and all you end up with is a lot of empty yesterdays."
    So there.

  5. well...

"The sooner I fall behind, the more time I have to catch up."

"Procrastination is something best put off until tomorrow."

    So there.
    -Baldr, god of innocence. teehee.

  6. Okay, I know this one doesn't support my side, but I can't resist -
"Progress isn't made by early risers; progress is made by lazy men looking for an easier way to do something."

  7. Haha! This is the most amusing debate ever... ^.^ Sol: Yes, but remember my binder? And how you used to use one piece of paper for 50000000 assignments? And how you would freak out when I wasted paper? And how I always lost stuff... you know, somehow this doesn't seem to be helping my reputation. :D ^.^

  8. ok, I give in.
I just rushed to do a science assignment that included I five page essay, a 3-D model of a digestive system, and a class presitation.
all in one night and the next morning before class.

Also, is it possible to put a picture in a post?
Baldr, god of poetry, and Lord of the Interrobang(!?)

  9. Mira: Oh, are you going to become a crazy tree saver too??? Excellent!
Baldr: Shame on you. Kids that do that annoy me sooo much, in case you were wondering. And I mistype your name every time I type it, it's just so weird with Bs and Ls and Ds and Rs... Blard... Badrl?
About putting a picture in... I think so, I'll poke around tonight and see if I can find anything. And I entirely approve of your being Lord of the Interrobang. All those for nominating Baldr (mistyped it again!) for the noble position of the Lord of the Interrobang, please say "I."
    "I."
    Sol
PS., Laga, Odin, where are you?!?! You two could add so much to this conversation... please pretty please do...

  10. Okay, Baldr (took time to type it correctly, and got it right the first time!), I found out hoe to post a picture. When you are making a new post, you have a bar at the top of the word box with lots of options, right? Well, towards the middle there is an icon of a little landscape photograph (hover over it and you will see "Insert Image"). Click and then you can upload a photo. Good luck, hope that helped.

  11. You found out "hoe" to post a picture...? You typed one word rights and threw the other one out the window. :D And no, I am not going to be a crazy tree hugger, just a regular one. ^.^

  14. I wonder, Mira... I wonder....

  15. YOU GUYS ARE ALL COMPLETELY CRAZY!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAhaHAHHAAHHAHAHAH!!!!
P.S. I HAVE A DECENT EVIL LAUGH NOW! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!
P.P.S. (Someone please help me. I have completely lost it.)
    IEEEEEEEEEEHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!?!!?!?!?!?!!!!
P.P.P.S. So, am I adding to the conversation now, Sol?

  16. THANK YOU SOOO SOOO MUCH!!! My fellow bloggers, Laga has once more joined our ranks! Our circle is as complete as it feasibly can be - please excuse Odin's absences, he doesn't have a gmail account...
Have you really got a good evil laugh? I can't wait to hear it.

  17. Why do I only have one person supporting me?!?
I'll just have to support myeself.
    "I"
Huzzah, I have been unanamously voted to become Lord of the Interrobang.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Congrats on the project and election, Baldr. Gotta say, I agree with Sol about the procrastination thing though. I have two essays to finish in two hours, and yet am still blogging... Eeep!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yay!
Laga is almost as bad as I am!

    ReplyDelete
  20. And Laga's unacceptable procrastination somehow excuses yours, Baldr? Or is it the ol' "Misery-and-regret-and-guiltiness-deserve-company?"

    ReplyDelete
  21. Definitly misery deserves company. Nothing like that last little jolt of panic to help get something done. Both papers were turned in on time, thanks to procrastination fear. yay!!! Doesn't really help sleep, though...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Okay, sure, but how does having a partner in crime alleviate that fear?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Doesn't alleviate the fear, but it makes you feel better to know someone empathizes!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah!
    Hey Laga, you partner-in-crime you!
Baldr, god of having partners in crime

    ReplyDelete
  25. LOL?!?!? OMG, what a disgrace, Laga. Honestly, I thought you were on OUR side. Be you not a knight (cuh-nig-it?)
    GTG, TTYL.
    Sol, Goddess of Outrage
PS., Baldr, if I were you, I would dump Laga as a parter in crime because she seems awfully traitorous and un-loyal to me.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I most humbly apologize. I tried writing hahahaha but it just doesn't look right.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You COULD have said something along the lines of,
"Baldr, I greatly appreciate your humorous comment, and, to use the popular yet abhorrent slang abbreviation, "L.O.L."
    =)
    So there.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Fine. And, as this is a good way to express my emotion, I shall use an emotocon. =P. So there. =)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wow, we have strayed off topic, haven't we?

    ReplyDelete
  30. =) Tangents are perfectly acceptable outside of a rigorous school environment. And even in that environment, they were usually okay (Laga, Mira, referring to last year). But we DID have a lot to cover sometimes... and we didn't cover it all sometimes because of tangents... but, oh well. All's well that ends well.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Lol?! Laga?! (Reels over in shock) Of course, you should know by now that I would never reel over in shock over SUCH a simple matter. (sarcasm) (Stands up with a maniacal laugh. L.-O.-L.) However, Sol, can you really lecture about such things? Quote, "Dude, stop like, totally freaking out. Gosh, Dude." -Quote a text message from Sol. Who's traitorous and unloyal NOW? Mwahaha. Laga, didn't we always stray off topic anyway? ^-^

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks Mira! So what can you say to that, Sol?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Allow me to explain, since the meaning of such a hideous text was clearly... misunderstood.
You see, dear Mira and I had been having a fun back-and-forth exchange of typical adolescent language. One must know the rules well before he is allowed to break them, true? If one ACCIDENTALLY says something like the above text, honestly thinking that there is nothing wrong with it, then that is hardly permissible. But, as we knew perfectly well that such speech was not to be taken seriously, WE DID NOT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. And neither should you.
Remember last year how we intentionally used double negatives and sentence fragments to prove our points? It's kind of the same thing. So you have no right to jump on my for that text.
Thank you for your time. I hope we got that cleared up,

    ReplyDelete
  34. ROAR!!
    Bladder, god of Roaring

    ReplyDelete
  35. BALDR!!
    baldr baldr baldr baldr baldr!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. WOW. Not impressed, Baldr, Bladr, Balrd, whatever it really is. Maybe you should change your name.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Fondly reminiscing an earlier comment:
"YOU GUYS ARE ALL COMPLETELY CRAZY!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAhaHAHHAAHHAHAHAH!!!!
P.S. I HAVE A DECENT EVIL LAUGH NOW! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!
P.P.S. (Someone please help me. I have completely lost it.)
    IEEEEEEEEEEHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!?!!?!?!?!?!!!!
P.P.P.S. So, am I adding to the conversation now, Sol?"
    Good ol' Laga =)

  38. See, just look at all these wonderful conversation we've had. I'd appreciated if we could revive some of them, or start up some new ones... please... maybe when school gets out? We should start scheduling days when everyone can comment, or something...
